Hello everyone

I am a Canadian Registered practical Nurse (registered in ontario) and have learnt that your EN/Division 2 nurse is equivalent. I am planning to travel to Australia in September on a working vacation visa (which will allow me to hold any casual or part time position for upto 8 months with the same employer). I was wondering if it is going to be at all possible for me to practice nursing once I am there. I am aware that I will more than likely have to show prove of my title and possibly write an EN exam. If anyone out there has any advice or information for me it would be much appreciated.

THANK YOU

Tarin

Hi Tarin,

nurses in Australia have to be registered with the Nurses Board in every state in which they want to practice. Most of the Boards have good information on their websites regarding applying for registration for overseas nurses.

We have links to the boards on NurseCentral at http://www.nursecentral.com.au/Links/Registration-Boards so I would encourage you to check out the site of the state you plan to work in and go from there.
