Hi Everyone.

Hoping someone may be able to assist with my enquiry.
Due to financial committements (mortgage bills etc) I can not afford to take 18months of work to study full-time at Tafe NSW so I am wondering if there are any places training colleges/institues in NSW that offer the Diploma of Nursing (Enrolled/Division 2 Nursing) by Distance Education and/or Online????

I have notice that in Queensland Gold Coast Institute of TAFE offeres this course in online mode, but it does requires some trips to the Gold Coast to completed the practical/residential classes. Has any one in NSW completed this course through Queensland TAFE by online mode and got work in NSW? If so, how did you find the course, was it hard, did you have lots of support etc from Queensland TAFE?? Iam thinking of doing this course, but want to make sure it is the right choice and best option.

Thanks, Melanie

Hi Linda,

Have a look at this webiste:
http://www.goldcoast.tafe.qld.gov.au/cis/index.php?script_name=coursedetails&course_id=3331

I started this course early March (about 3 weeks ago) and am loving it, its so interesting. I work full-time also and have no nursing experience.

Cheers,
Mel.

I had a look at this gold coast uni but even though its online you still have to attend the uni so many times a year. Is there any online courses that you are able to do this stuff close to where you live? I live in Victoria and would not like to have to fly to the gold coast. Surely there is some where closer :/

Get in contact with your state and federal member and ask them to bring back the Trainee Enrolled Nurse program. I learnt this way and it was the only way to learn. Get paid whilst learning. If we don't stand together on this issue, more and more nurses will not be able to follow their dreams.
