Just wondering if anyone has ever been told that they didn't get accepted into the EN diploma course at TAFE?  They make a point of saying it's very competitive but I'm wondering whether to pay extra through another educator who has already accepted me or to wait and see if TAFE will make the offer.

Hi Gouldie, I got accepted to start the course now in October at Careers Australia the other day as some people have dropped out of the course and they still had some spots left. I had a tour of the campus and sat a really simple literacy and numeracy test. A calculator was even provided for the numeracy, where vetassess does not allow a calculator. I said I couldn't start as I wish to start in January 2015. I live in Melbourne and Careers Australia is in the CBD. I think it is much easier to get into probably then TAFE because TAFE has a lot of applicants. The cost of the entire course is not much different to tafe and they also provide VET FEE HELP. The other benefit is that it is 3 days full time whereas TAFE is usually 4-5 days. I don't know why this is case. So yes there are other options to TAFE.
