Just wanting some opinions on Gold coast institute of Tafe and if anyone had studied diploma of nursing through them. Just wondering is it completely online with no on campus sessions? SQIT is 2 days per week on campus.

Hi dustylou, I'm studying nursing online through GCIT. You are required to attend 3 residential schools on campus to pass each semester and progress on. As there are areas covered that you cannot learn or be assessed online. They are about 2 weeks long. You have to find your own travel and accommodation to suit the dates.  Your placement prac hrs. can be completed at a willing aged care facility where you live. they may be negotiable on full block or part time and shifts. Hospital placement on the other hand is full 2 week blocks, and you really have to take what the take comes up with. All other studies are online, some teachers have online tutorials where any student can participate. There re lots of assessments, quizzes and case studies to complete as part of learning and completing subjects..Good luck deciding.

Thank you! I didn't think it would be such a big decision.. But with a young family to consider I need something flexible. Fortunately I have the advantage of been an AIN at the local nursing home, so that should help. Thanks again:-)
