Hi,

Does anybody here doing a div 2 graduate program in Melbourne?
If you do, I would like to hear about your experience doing a grad program in Victoria :)

Im thinking about working in a hospital, but I am still not confident enough to step out there. I have only been working in a hostel for almost a year (giving meds and basic observations & assessments)

Thanks!

Sandy.

Hi Sandy. When I finished my div 2 cert. I was then working in a nursing home. So I enrolled in a post basic course acute at Mayfield education centre. 2 weeks in class and 72 hours clinical placement. Then I joined a nursing agency and slowly made the transition. Very unerving at first but you will get through because there will always be someone nice enough to help you along. Within one month I was offered a permanent position in acute. Try and secure a job with a public hospital. I work full time at Dandenong hospital but I am also on bank at Royal Melbourne Hospital and they are always looking for div 2. Good luck .. Kathee

Thanks Kathee! I have just sent an email to your bigpond account asking you some more questions.

Btw, do you have Human anatomy and physiology by marieb? I already sold mine bcos I was planning to go back to my home country to work with my dad (not as a nurse), but now I need to review my anatomy and physiology. I live in Box Hill South.

Cheers!
