Hi fellow Nurse Central members,

I was just wondering if anyone had previously, or was intending to study this year through NAVITAS health skills Australia? I was just curious to hear about students experience at this TAFE and what the course delivery, work, teachers were like? If anyone has any info it would be great to hear back :)

TBH teacher quality is a bit of pot luck. There are a lot of excellent teachers but the nature of how they operate means they get seasonal teachers who leave a lot to be desired. I am sure this is the case at most of the private RTOs as I know many of the teachers actually teach at a number of them. The administration seems to be going through a transition process right now which can be frustrating. Next semester they are allowing students to enrolled in extra units so you can finish your qualifications faster which if you are an advanced student will be fantastic.

Hi there,

might am considering studying my diploma of nursing through navitas. I have read previous comments and was just wondering if any current or previous students of navitas can tell me a little more about their experience at the college, and would they reccomend it?

look forward to a reply, thanks :)

I am also interested in hearing about others experiences with health skills.  At the information session and the maths refresher evening everyone seemed very helpful and like they know their stuff.

Do not study at navitas! It is such an unorganised joke of an organisation. There are some great teaches. But the upper management are absolutely rude, the do not respond to any requests. It's awful I wish I never started here.

I'm thinking of studying at Health Skills Australia in February next year, anyone else have any comments on the school? Or any suggestions of a good nursing school in Melbourne?

UPDATE:   I have set on Vic Uni St Albans Campus, Can anyone share their experience at this school?  Thanks again

Thanks

Hi Guys,

As a former Navitas Health Skills Aust student from the Brisbane Campus i can tell you it is an excellent course. Diploma of Nursing Div 2. I am now studying at Uni doing my R.N because of the teachers on the Brisbane Campus, they have excellent teachers and should you need extra help, they are happy to help you any way they can so you succeed. Also you need to put the hard work in you are not handed a Diploma you have to work hard for it, and when you reach the end of the course, you will have a wealth of knowledge to help you with your nursing career. This knowledge then helps you should you want to go to University. You do not get the same help at University then you do with the teachers in this course. You will meet new friends, have so much fun in lab sessions and also meet new and exciting people (doctors, nurses) when you go out on clinical prac. The best part at the end of the course is your rural, remote Nursing placement this is where a lot of memories are made, I really enjoyed my time in this course and a lot of other students have who have completed their Diploma.
