Hi all,

I have been looking into other options in studying nursing apart from TafeSA, ie; RTO.

The RTO's I have been looking into are; Celtic and ANF (Aus. Nursing Fed.).

I was hoping to find out if any of you have studied with either of them and what your experiences were.

Any info will be greatly appreciated.

Hi

I am currently studying at ANF and finish in Dec

From what I have from the small number around (students) that I personally bump along the ways, is that ANF is the pick of the bunch.

Feedback from placements is ANF have a high standard and are better trained. (not taking anything away from Nurses who put the effort in from different facilities).

I personally have found ANF very good but cannot personally compare from other training facilities.

Cost is a huge factor, very expensive, and ANF seem to become "money orientated", found at time dis-organized.

Most of the lectures are good, and one outstanding lecturer ( which all who have been lectured by her say the very same thing, "the best")

hope it helps in some way

Hi,

I know RDNS runs a course.

Also the RAH (Royal Adelaide Hospital) which is where I did my training. The emphasis here is more on acute care, as you'll do 3 acute care placements.

Hi CeeCee,

I noticed RAH runs EN courses, what is the study workload/contact time with RAH? Acute care is an area I'm really interested in actually so I don't mind placement within that area.

Thanks for the responses!

Thanks,

Julz

Hi,

It is considered a full time course. Contact time is 3 days a week, but the study load is full time. Placement will also be on the same 3 days a week, so you can work 2-3 days a week.

It is a popular course and they only take about 25 students each year. You have to sit through a basic English and Maths test as part of the application process. So if you're interested, get your name on the list. You'll get an invite to an information evening somewhere at the beginning of next year where you can ask questions and get more information.

Good Luck.
