:-)Has anyone finished their diploma of Enrolled Nursing and then gone on to complete their Bachelor of Nursing?

I'm currently doing my Enrolled Nursing through TAFE. and I'm fairly sure I would like to go on to do my Bachelor of Nursing. I know that it can be offered via Distant Ed which will suit me as I'm 2 hours away from the nearest Uni. I also have a 18 month old and I'm planning on having another baby once my Enrolled Nurse course is done.

Does anyone know how the work load and difficulty differs from the 2 courses? Anyone out there done this ? any advice?

 Thanks

Hello Renee,

I've just finished second year of RN (I didn't do EEN first) and quite a few students came directly from the diploma course. They said the workload in the diploma was larger, but the content of the RN is more science based and they found that a bit harder. The benefit is that they now only have to come to uni half as much as they used to cos there's not a lot of on-campus contact hours compared to TAFE.

Are you in Victoria? Inbox me if you'd like more information.

Good luck to you all new RN's. I made the best decision in my life not to be a RN. I seen it all that RN's are under lots of pressure and stress, no breaks and work over time. The load is terrible on RN's. No thank you.
