I am in desperate need of help for a question i have been stuck on for a couple of weeks now for Tafe..  i wish i could put the picture up but im not sure how too.

Basically all i need to know is what is the best type of dressing for my wound.. the wound is approx 23cm in length, deep laceration lower arm, surrounding skin is red and irritated and slightly raised, hard to tell.  im just not sure what is the best type of wound dressing i would use for this kind of wound considering the surrounding skin.  If anyone could give me some advice i would be greatly appreciated.  i have spent weeks looking up all dressing types and now im just beyond confused :/

I'll have to assume it is a long and deep. Red and surrounding wound is raised... Is there any pus or yellowish stuff around? If not, it sounds like a recent wound in the process of healing. I would just clean with saline and put gauze/melonin and crepe bandage dressing on it.

Edit: Do remember to keep a wound chart to keep track of progress in the healing process~

N/S wash, Steri strips, non-adherent dressing (mepore) - then bandage to secure.
