Hi. Research ......Ughh.

It can be like that for sure, but not this time. Being a busy RN myself the questionnaire has been designed to respect our precious time, its quick but effective. There are twenty short questions using a ten point scale that takes less than ten minutes to fill out. Several people have completed it in under five minutes. No typing of words is required. Merely click a radio button.

All communication is by email. No names are required. All identifying data, i.e. email address, will be deleted and de-identified and the remaining data stored as code. There is only one email required to be sent by you and I wont ever contact you. This method of research has significant advantages that reduce bias.

I am studying at Flinders University investigating ‘Consent and RN's’ at the honours level. As the title suggests I require RN's to fill out the questionnaire. Sorry EN's but I am focussing on RN's for legal reasons. I was surprised how important for nursing this issue is, but I cant say more before you complete the questionnaire. Once enough have been completed or a month has passed I will post the answers on Nurse Central with an explanation and commentary. I think you may find it interesting as it strongly relates to the recognition of nursing as a profession.

The approval letter for this research is attached along with the questionnaire. I hope you decide to have a go and fulfil your competency 3.4 'Participates in Research'. If you do, you need to save the questionnaire on your computer first, complete it by choosing radio buttons, save again, then open an email to the following email address, attach the saved questionnaire and send it to me:

Thanks for your time.

Well done Dom,

I am very pleased that NurseCentral is able to support your research and encourage all RNs to assist Dom by completing his questionnaire.

Nursing Research is an important aspect of furthering the professionalism of nursing and if anyone else is undertaking research and would like to access the NurseCentral membership, please send me an email regarding posting your research topic here.

If we start getting enough interest, I will start a new Research Forum area.

Hi everyone

I am undertaking research into digital technology use by clinical facilitators, preceptors and supervisors of studentsto establish a profile of /digital/computing/internet experience.  This information will be collated to enable the facilitation of effective communication, using digital technology, with clinical facilitators and preceptors. This survey is part of a Teaching Development Grant being undertaken at UTAS to evaluate the potential and use of social software to develop a community of practice or network of clinical facilitators.

Any registered nurse who undertakes clinical facilitation of Bachelor of Nursing undergraduate students is eligible to participate. Participation is voluntary and there are no consequences if you decide not to proceed with completion of the survey. The data collected is anonymous and it is held on a secure server in Lime survey at UTAS. Participation in this study will provide base-line information about the use of digital technology by clinical facilitators.  The results will provide information about learning and teaching regarding support and guidance necessary to engage clinical facilitators in using a community of practice or network that this project is aiming to develop. There is minimal risk ethics approval and an information sheet available explaining the project.  Here is the link if you are interested in participating:

http://blogs.utas.edu.au/snm-pep/digital-use-by-clinical-facilitators-survey/

This link also takes you to the professional experience placement blog that provides information and invites comment from clinical supervisors. There is also an opportunity to join a community of practice of clinical facilitators, preceptors and supervisors if you join Twitter or follow the @PEPCommunity. If you do join or follow the community of practice, I would also appreciate your input by completing this survey.  Information about the project and survey is provided clicking the survey link. This survey can take less than 5 minutes to complete. It is radio button clicks, so it's quick to complete! I would appreciate your views!

Cheers and thanks

Hi all! I'm a graduate student at Cal State University Dominguez Hills. Our OT research group is looking to conduct a study to understand the interactions between nurses and occupational therapists. We're also interested in how much is known about occupational therapy among the nursing community. The inclusion criteria are: 1) you must currently be working as a nurse2) you must have an occupational therapist(s) working at your site.It is anonymous and will only take 5 minutes! If you are interested in participating, please click the link below. Thank you in advance!https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1zCUGa_fQBNXc3aqes_0IBkn9XACvpNpmSGNsNiIZyCs/viewform#start=openformCSUDH IRB #13-084 approval date may 23, 2013.
