O.P.

Hi there! I got an early round offer to study nursing at ACU Melbourne for next year!!! I have a few questions if anybody could please help me...

1. When/how do we find out the dates for tutorial direct allocations?

2. I am applying for credit for prior learning and was wondering where I can find extended unit outlines for semester 1 Bachelor of Nursing subjects? I would like to see which units are similar to the 4 I have already completed.

3. Also has anybody done the flexible model of placement? If so thoughts on this? What hospitals offer this model?

Thanks heaps :)

Hello,

I am a current ACU Melbourne student.

1. Usually Tutorial Direct allocation is a few weeks before semester begins.

2. Extended unit outline or the Nursing program map?

3. I have just finished the flexible model of placement - I have done two. The first one was REALLY flexible, we could do three shifts one week, none for two then do 1 the following week. As long as we got all of our days finished by the end of the semester it was fine to work whenever it suited us. We got to choose the days and shifts we worked. The second wasn't so flexible. We needed to do one shift per week for 15 weeks. If we were off sick we couldn't just make it up anywhere, it had to be during the 'catch up week' in week 16. We had to send in our availabilities for the whole semester and the roster was made for us.

I know Royal Melbourne, St Vincent's Public and Cabrini offer flexi. There is most likely more but they'r the ones I know off the top of my head.

Hi Snapey, thank you so much for your reply!

Yeah extended unit outlines is what I am after :)

Oh wow that sounds like the way to do it through the flexible model! Big part of why I choose ACU, sound like a great choice of Hospitals which participate in it too.

Inbox me your email and I will end you the first year outlines. I only have last years outlines though, not this years. But I am sure they are similar.
