Hi all, I hope someone out there can give me a personal insight as to how Bachelor of Nursing with CQU operates through distance ed. I am currently completing their STEPS program and will move onto bachelor of Nursing next year.

I am situated in Tasmania so I will travel to Mackay for residential school, and I am trying to sort out if this will be possible for me with a small family. I would like to know how long the residential schools run for? will I be required to go up once a year or every term? and also do you do prac placements every term or how many hours are you expected to do every week or term? sorry to sound vague, still finding my feet in this student nursing world.

Any other information you think I might find useful would be most appreciated. Thanks for reading.

Thank you:-)

Hi JenGood, I am in the same boat as you. Looking to enrol for this course next year & I think the easiest campus to travel to will be Mackay. I had a brief look at the timetable for residential schools and for the first year they seem to be about 2 days long per term per subject . I am unsure though if this includes the practical assessments and what not. If you hear any further please feel free to share!

Is anyone able to shed further light on the CQU degree by distance? I'm considering applying to CQU to start midyear and then transferring to University of Newcastle on-campus in 2016.....thanks in advance!

Different Uni's have different requirements and ways they deliver their subjects, so you may NOT get a like for like subject swap from Uni to Uni. You need to ask if you studeied x, y z with CQU would you get a credit transfer for 1st year as you may not.

CQU is good BTW!
