Is anyone starting the Enrolled Nurses course next year at Gold Coast Tafe? I've missed the first intake but hoping to get into the midyear intake as a mature age student. I'm in my 40's and haven't studied since school. I don't even remember having to do assignments at school so this is going to be completely new for me. Hoping to find others that are starting next year as well :-)

And also any opinions on whether to go directly through Tafe or through Ramsay Health so your placements can be done at either John Flynn or Pindara?

I am sorry, I am not that aware of these courses and how it should go in the proper way. However, I may advise you how to keep up with your assignments. Check what Marvelous essay service can do for you. I frequently use it and I am happy about the grades I get for my writings.

I have been through the Mater application process and they were fantastic. I have so far gone through the Greenslopes as well and about to have my interview for January. I have also considered TAFE as well. I wanted to have all my options open because the VET fee funding is changing and being capped at $10,000 only and you have to pay the balance. TAFE is far cheaper than Mater.

Have you had to sit any tests of any kind and do you know when the VET fee funding is changing? I'd better hurry up too!!

I'm currently applying at Gold Coast Tafe (and numerous tafe's in NSW) for online so you haven't missed out. It's open until mid January. I'm sure the VET fee funding will change in January. Yes you have to sit an exam after you have done your application, it's called the Basic Key Skills Builder (this is in NSW so I'm not sure if it's different in QLD) and I found it challenging :(   but I think my interview went well :)

I would try Ramsay 1st as they try and get placements in your area. Good Luck

Diploma of Nursing funding is capped at $15,000 from Jan 1st.

Student loans will cover you that amount and anything above you must pay. For instance with the Mater program is $22,500 and you pay the $7,500 over.
