Hi there,

I'm having some trouble deciding between Diploma of Nursing and Bachelor of Nursing offers, and I only have a few days to make a decision. I'd really appreciate any thoughts on the topic. My goal is to become an RN in 3 years regardless of the pathway, so the main reason that I'd consider the diploma pathway is to get some additional experience as an EN while studying further, or a concurrent AHPRA registration while getting settled with RN/grad year. Would the 18 months EN experience have much value when applying for RN positions or graduate positions as opposed to PCA/AIN/Student Nurse work?

I'll list some of the pros/cons for both courses:

Diploma of Nursing - dual enrol, 4 days per week full time for 18 month course for EN qual, possibility to follow up 18 month RN at uni while working as EN

Bachelor of Nursing - 3 years, likely 3 days per week and greater flexibility for working (PCA), great industry connections with current RN teachers, full course at same institution
