Re: Prospective Student looking for advice

It depends- i know their is a high drop out rate in Nursing after first year (in particular first placement) because people get on placement and don't like the personal care- eg showering, toileting aspect of Nursing or things like blood. I worked as an AIN prior to doing Nursing and have continued to work in the field since i started studying and have found it very helpful for Nursing although i don't know how much of a help it would be in straight mid. I don't know what it's like in Darwin but my understanding in Victoria is that the straight Bachelor of Mid is being fazed out. Doing the double in mid and Nursing would definitely give you more employment opportunities and is only an extra year as well.
