I'm interested in studying a bachelor of nursing, however its important for me to continue full time work. Does anyone know of any universities in Melbourne that could offer mostly online. I understand there would be clinical placements and lab work I would need to attend in which I'm prepared to take annual leave dates at my work for that.

Hi there, I live in Melbourne and am commencing bachelor of nursing online through the university of South Australia. All study is online. On a fulltime timetable you will need to allocate approximately 20 days for the first year for prac placement visit and workshops. In the second year there are two rotations of about 4 and a half weeks of prac placement and workshops. In the third year you finish off with two rotations of 8 weeks each of prac placement. All exams will be held for me in Melbourne at a place allocated by the university. The other uni which offers distance education is Charles Darwin Uni and CQU Queensland. I chose uni sa as my first preference because I have family which live there so convenient when I need to attend workshops in Adelaide.  also work fulltime so distance education is the best for me. So to answer your question there are no unis in Melbourne which offer bachelor of nursing through distance education. Best of luck.

Hey guys,

I am a second year nursing student and my best friend has just enrolled into first year with Uni SA online.

Sandyko is right, Uni SA is the only uni to offer online nursing (besides Charles Darwin but they only accept second year students for online nursing).

It is great you have family in Adelaide to help you with accommodation, will save you a lot of money!

I think you'll find the hardest part will be the third year. Placements get longer as you near the end of the course.

Good luck with it all!

Hi, I just applied to do my Bachelor of Nursing through CDU, I am an Enrolled Nurse already. The CTB's (Clinical Training Blocks, which you have to do for 5 days before your placement) are now held in Melbourne, so I don't have to travel to Darwin unless they cannot place me down here for placements, which will be a challenge.
No Uni's in Melbourne offer this course online. Shame really!

Hi guys. I am looking at completing bachelor of nursing online. I have diploma of nursing already. I live in geelong and work full time. I am tossing up between CDU or USA. Would love some feedback from those who are doing this course already to help with my decision.
