Just wondering if anyone out there got into the BNursing programme at Griffith thru the graduate entry strand? As there are no rank/cutoffs given how do you know how good your degree grades need to be? Also I did my degree in Biological Sciences BUT in 1987 and very average marks!! Since graduating I have worked in admin and finance fields not science (BSc was one of those great courses that qualified you to do nothing!) I have also done a Post Grad Dip Bus Admin with good grades B+ avg but also 1996 so more than 10 years ago! What chance of getting in thru QTAC? Don't want to have to do the Personal Competency thing as I have been out of the workforce for last 10 years raising children and would have no-one to give references etc. Could do STAT, it looks pretty do-able to me. Always had an interest in nursing/health but parents talked me out of it... Now I'm 43, newly single, mum to 2 primary aged kids. Am I too OLD anyway??

Will be interested to see other replies here. Just got back from the Griffith Open Day... and looking through the bundles of information I got I have found the Graduate Entry Course... sounds great.... But it's been 16 years since I finished my B.Sci... though I have worked in pathology for 12 years.... I think its best to ring the Griffith Nursing dept to find out... if they are anything like they were today - 10/10 for being helpful.... Good luck.

hi, I just went to the open day too! I had rung them a while back about the grad entry and the 10 year rule seems to be more about getting academic standing for your previous study than anything. It was just too hard to go down that route, couldn't get references etc, and the lady in the school of nursing I spoke to said lots of people that started the grad stream dropped it and went into the 3 yr course, as it was just too intense. All that plus having to find child care over the summer school hols (as a single mum) as the grad programme runs full time 8-5pm for about 4-5 weeks made up my mind - I'm just going for the 3 yr programme. At least with my degree I'm guaranteed of getting a place. Looked like a great place and weren't they all really nice - I can't wait to start!
