Hi Guys and Gals, I am aware that we have made offers for our grad program here. Have any of you been offered a place, what is it and why did you choose that hospital/ option.

Offered three. One I rejected as it was based solely on marks and resume but they didn't even interview.

One was very very tempting, nearby country. A lot of variety. And they cared enough to interview twice and show me around.

The one I took had the most comprehensive selection process, with an afternoon of meeting people, group work and scenarios, even a psych test. Although daunting, when they offered, I felt like they must really want me. Plus everything very new and good approach to learning. So I took the place that offered the most human interest in who I am and my future with them... m

Hi mattnot sure what hospitals you applied too but a lot don't interview. They appear to rely on talking with your referees.I have noticed this the case with a lot of country hospitals but also the occassional metro one too.Morgan

In Queensland, the whole application process is through one online website. The applicants select their hospitals in order of preference and only their first preference can interview them. A week after the first preference hospitals have made their offers, the 2nd and subsequent preference hospitals are allowed to interview and offer. All interviews are telephone interviews too. As we have just moved from Queensland to S.A., I applied for grad programs in SA and will start shortly. Not having an interview suited me fine as I don't generally perform well in interview situations.
