i have just started my trainee ship at a privately ran aged care home, and i work 6 hourly shifts with fifteen residents by myself, i give out medications from webster packs , and am solely their carer for my shift, i am wanting to know if this is legal as it seems a little careless, as ive only just begun, i am getting paid $13.16 per hour as a trainee, somehow it dosnt seem right, any information would be greatly appreciated,, thanks

I give out medications via webster packs but I have completed Cert 3 in Aged Care where I had to do the Assisting With Medications module. I have 18 residents, high care dementia but I work with another carer. I know in low care where i am there is one carer looking after 12 residents. I think your wage is very low, i'm on $16.01 hr, just have it checked out, maybe somebody here can shed some light on much you should be on.
