Hello all,

I am new so I'm hoping it's in the right area. I start my EN course next month with Healthskills Australia  (Yay) but what I found that was lacking was information about clinical hours. I will be studyingand working part time when im not at uni so I'm worried the hours. For some reason in my head I had it as 4 one week placements over the 18 months and I already have a job looking to get rid of me so doing more clinical hours would mean I would need to quit my job. I went to get a blood sample yesturday done and asked the nurse then and she said she did 3 4 week placements and really having no one who had done nursing as an EN I don't know what to expect.

What I'm more asking is how many weeks of placement did you do?

Thanks,

Michelle

Hi Lilmishy,

I would call your program and ask to find out.  That way you can prepare for the future and make financial arrangements.  I think it varies some depending on the program and school - but I've heard that 400 hours are required for EN and 800 for RN.  Good luck!

In it mandatory to complete hours as an EN in some schools they provide relaxations or support but its not everywhere

Good Luck
