ABC News - Monday, April 11, 2005
Northern Territory Health Minister Peter Toyne says a $1 million funding boost for the Alice Springs Hospital will help ease the pressure on nurses working in the hospital's emergency department.
Dr Toyne says the Government will spend the money recruiting another registrar, a part-time emergency consultant and nine nurses for the emergency department.
The Minister also says the Government will spend a further $650,000 upgrading eight accommodation units for hospital staff.
