THROUGH THESE LINES is an original play by Sydney actor/writer Cheryl Ward, informed by the letters and diaries of Australian army women in WWI.
The production comes to Sydney after a seven-week tour of regional NSW that was enthusiastically received by audiences:

The Sydney season is being presented in association with the Australian National Maritime Museum, to coincide with the exhibition War at Sea: the navy in WWI.
THROUGH THESE LINES follows the four-year journey of fictional Australian army nurse, Sister Florence Whiting, from her departure on the troopship Kyarra to tours of duty in the Dardanelles, Lemnos, Egypt, France and the casualty clearing stations of the Western Front.
THROUGH THESE LINES is an intimate and unique theatrical experience. Performed by a talented ensemble cast with authentic costumes and props and a vivid set and sound design, it brings to life the extraordinary contributions made by the women of the Australian Army Nursing Service during ‘the Great War’.
THROUGH THESE LINES began its life as a site-specific production for the Munitions Tunnels at Headland Park, Middle Head on Sydney Harbour in 2010, where all performances were sold out.In the four years since then, writer Cheryl Ward has undertaking further research in Australia, the UK and Europe. The result is an exhilarating and moving theatrical production creating an immersive experience of the tumult of war.
