Now you all have to put into practice the stuff that you all learnt in the text books and them long boring lectures at uni. I would take a stab in the dark that most of you would be moving on to do a GNP thru a big hospitial, however may I suggest to you that you remember that you are not expected to be on the wards day one and know it all. Yes you have done the training, but doing it on a dummy or your class mates, and actully doing it on a patient in a emgergency are too totally different things. If you are unsure of something, not confident in something, then ask for help. I have seen lots of 1st year RN's make simple mistakes, because they were too afraid, or scared to ask, or just plain stupid to ask for help from a senior nurse.
