Hi Guys

I have just been speaking to the tafe I am going to be applying to for a placement in there en course. They have just informed me of the course fees. Initially I was told that the fee would be $16,000 because of prior learning (I have a uni degree) and that next year it will become a diploma course. I am desperate to do this course whilst I think I coulld gain entry into the course the fees maybe another matter entirely. Can anyone help me with ideas about funding this course I am so desperate to do this.

Thanks in Advance

Jill

It only costs $580 per semester and only goes for 18 months so $1740 for whole course. Theres still books and stuff but it shouldnt come to $16000

Hi Blissful,

Thanks for your reply. I was quoted that amount by the tafe college i would be applying to because it is about to change to a diploma course. Apparently the fees are effected if you have 'prior learning' above a diploma. I have a degree in Human Services Degree therefore I would be categorised into the higher fees bracket. The whole thing is rediculous and put enrolled nursing out of the reach of those who have a proven academic record but don't have the finances to be able to pay for it. I inquired about the possibility of payments over time I was told that was possible if it could be paid of over 4 monthly payments. My only hope is to apply for a scholarship but I don't know if it's now too late to apply for one. Do you have any further advice for me?

Thanks Jill

Hi Blissful,

I did my EEN diploma with Gold Coast TAFE and it was only $9950 (way less than $16,000) and it was online so I could do it at my own pace. I know someone who is enroling into the next course with them - it starts in August.

Good luck.
