Sorry to hear that Nursing was stressful for you on your placements. A lot is expected of you during this time, and the health system doesn't exactly make it easy for you to adjust to it. I have worked in Nursing now as EEN for close on 22 years, only doing my medication endorsement ten years after graduating. I have worked in so many areas of Nursing such as theatre, mental health, rehabilitation, aged care nursing home and day surgery. Getting any kind of "non nursing" jobs using your Diploma, without health experience, is going to be difficult in my opinion. Yes, I too have gone through ups and downs in my Nursing career but for many reasons have stuck with it. For one thing, I don't know any job that will let you work any shift, any day that you want, when you want!.
I currently work on Nurse Pool, allowing me so much flexibility. My advice to you is get one or two days a week as a Nurse, get some health experience and then branch out to other avenues in the health system. But in my experience these positions, such as Ward Clerk, Patient Services Assistant, Health Assistant, are very competitive to get into. However, if you develop a good reputation on Nurse bank or even as an Agency Nurse, you will get good recommendations.
