Hi there,
I have a few questions as I just moved to Australia from Canada. I was about 7 courses deep in my LPN studies in Canada (Enrolled Nurse equivalent there). I am thinking it is probably faster to take the TAFE courses here, as well as more convenient when I am there in person? I have contacted the TAFE school I am interested in to see if they will give me any credit for all my courses-but I just wanted to see if anyone else had been through this already. Also-how long is the EN course all up? Thanks a lot!!

Beas, Hi, I am an EN with medication endorsed I had to study 1 year, and employed in one of Sydney's teaching hospital appointed by the course organizer which was at the time Northern Sydney Health, now changed and I think Dep. of Health is doing the job of recruiting applicants. During 12 months of this training we had to attend North Sydney TAFE for 18 weeks (in two parts) I mean you have your 8 or 10 weeks in TAFE first then you are placed to an appointed hospital that you are assigned then you have to go back to TAFE to do your second part of the study of another up to 10 weeks then you go back to hospital, you have to be available for 7 days rotation for your shift work., you get paid!!! (that was awsome :)) Part of your work place training involves Nursing Home placement which I did not like due their to administration, and their staff. Anyway I hope this info helps you, and GOOD LUCK in the future.

Now I am in my 3rd year doing Bachelor of Nursing.

Cheers, :)
