I am already an Diploma graduate nurse. So an EN 3 now with the changes.
I graduated in August 2008.
Quiet a number of the people I did my Diploma with have gone on to start or complete their Bachelors.
Anyway I want to expand my scope of practice and open more doors. So after much tooing and frooing, Iv'e decided to apply at some Universities to see if I can get into my Bachelors, I really don't know how hard it is but many of the people I know with an EN background got in easy. But that was ON CAMPUS.
I can guess that this question has been posted before. But the posts I found were from a few years ago when the Bachelor of Nursing was only just starting to be offered and there really wasn't a great deal of options. So I am now posting this question with the hope that someone who has applied to a Uni to do this course answers.
So is there anyone on this site that has applied for a position via distance learning to complete their Bachelor of Nursing?
If so which Universities did you try?
And where you successful?
What Uni was it as well?
How did you go? Pass? Still going?

Can someone just help me out with some suggestions?
I say thank you to anyone who reads this. And a even bigger thank you to anyone who could offer any assistance.

Hi, I completed my EN course last year and just decided a few weeks ago to apply for Bachelor of Nursing at CDU via external learning. I found out today I was accepted. Being an EN automatically basically gets you in I think as I didn't have to provide anything else. I applied online and I start in Semester 2 which is this month. Good luck.

Hi Enigma.
I also got a place, starting in 2 days at CSU in NSW via DE.his is the only Uni I applied for after researching just what was involved with each uni to complette their degree with Placements, Learning and Residential Schools.
I was given 64 credits out of 192, so I have 2 years left to go.
Thank you for your reply and I wish you the best of luck.
Since you have started before me, how are you finding it?

I  was considering CSU as well, but my sister said she applied for CDU and we should do it at the same place so we can study together etc. I haven't actually started yet, just got accepted and have to enrol in units and apply for credit etc. I will finish in 2 yrs as well. I'm not sure if I'm making a mistake but I really want to learn more and hope it all works out. I know I can do the study, but I mean with the kids and placements and all that. Anyway, it all worked out for my EN course so I'm sure it will.

Did you do your EN through DE as well?
I did through Spencer TAFE and that all worked out with some juggling.
I have already started, but it seems as hard or as easy, so far, that the Diploma was. First assignment is up already though. Yikes!
Did you do the Diploma or Certificate?
I have found I LOVE DE with a passion, so I think this course will really suit me well.

I did the cert not diploma and it wasn't distance. I attended 2 days a week and really enjoyed it. I hope I can motivate myself with the distance learning. I don't think we start till next week but I have to send off certified copies of my registration and stuff so I'd better get on with that. My sister will find out if she got accepted tonight and we will be able to support each other.
