Hi there,

I'm currently studying 2nd year of a Bachelor of Nursing, and plan to get my Division 2 (Enrolled Nurse) registration at the end of this year. I want to work for an agency to work at different places, and maybe get an idea of where I would like to work when I finish my degree.

Does anyone have any suggestions what a good agency is to go with? I'm not so keen on Aged Care, and I love Mental Health (if that makes a difference). Can you tell them what areas you want to work in?

Many thanks!

Renee

Hi,

I currently want to make my career in nursing. I have researched a lot on Google about colleges who offers studies nursing and also provide job placement in good agencies.

I like http://www.centennialcollege.ca/healthstudies/nursing

You are doing a BN 3 year course just because you finish second year does not mean you can apply to be an EEN (Div. 2)

Hi tassiedude

Yeah it does actually in Vic. My Uni (Deakin) has a 1 day course we have to attend in December, then we are eligible to apply for registration with the nurses board (providing we pass all our subjects of course!).

I assume this isn't the case in Tasmania? I think it's awesome. I would much rather get my Div 2 and gain experience with a smaller scope of practice, rather than waiting for div 1 and being well and truly in the deep end!

Hi,

Finding good agency is not easy. I joined some agencies but there are pros and cons.

Belmore is the most popular and payment is the best. However, the some staff(owner) are very rude and they call really on call.

Austra health seems okay. However, I recommend you get a casual position in nursing homes or hospitals. That is more stable and better. The payment is lower though.

However, it is your choice really. Some people feel more satisfied with better income and some people want more stable job.

Cheers,
