Would it be accepted for a male nurse to have ONE stud in each ear lobe and a stud in the side of the lip? Or are piercings not allowed when you're a nurse? Thanks,

danii2011 (offline) Joined: Feb 2011 Location: Melbourne Posts: 51	Sep 10, 2011, 06:56 pm It depends on the facility usually one pair of studs are fine but other facial piercings either need to be removed or covered as its an infection control issue aswell as other jewellry (flat wedding band usually permitted ) ,nail polish and false nails as "germs" can colonize in these places and you risk transmitting to other patients , staff etc. Also any jewellry falling out into patients wounds etc. As a nurse you also need to remember you have to look clean, professional and "approachable" Hope this helps
