hi all i was wondering if anyone could suggest any good text books for me to read as im hoping to start RN course next year and would like to do some pre-reading on units ill have to complete

Hey Crystal, there are heaps of books you can read up on, many are as dry as a bone...LOL. Here are a couple that I think are pretty decent reading. "The Clinical placement - An essential guide for nursing studies by Tracy Levett-Jones & Sharon Bourgeois" : Nothing clinical here but its a good prep for people going into the nursing profession. "Nursing the surgical patient by Rosemary Pudner", " Wong's Essentials of Peadiatric Nursing by Marilyn J.Hockenberry.

This should keep you busy for a while...LOL

Hi Crystal
Good on you for planning ahead! I am just about to start my 3rd year and I would like to suggest getting familiar with basic anatomy of the body..bones, muscle and the systems of the body if you are really keen eg respiratory system, cardiac system endocrine system etc...background reading such as this should help...but dont get too bogged down on intricate details...just learn the basics.

hi elmo thanks for tips do u have any other ideas as iv got 2 a&p books medical-surgical text tabbners one on medications, one on drug calcs, a mims and one on law and ethics that i had to get last yr when i started diploma
