Hello~

So I have graduated from my Bachelor of Nursing degree in May 2016, and since then, I have been unsuccessful with every job seeking opportunity. Most employers are looking for nurses with 2-3 years worth of experience. This is for both public and private sectors. The only experience I have had is working as an AIN during my studies and as an orderly (which doesn't really count for much). I was told by a couple of co workers to find a nursing agency that is willing to take me on despite my lack of clinical experience, but so far no luck.

It has come to the point where I am thinking about dropping nursing altogether and going back to uni or tafe to do another course.

Anyone out there going through the same thing?

I am so sorry that you are having a hard time finding a job.  I know that today is very hard; especially where I am located which is Virginia.  I had been interviewing for nursing/special education teaching last year and I got to go on an interview, but there were 20 other people that they were interviewing for that position.  So, I know what you are going through.  The thing that I would do is to do a brainstorming activity where you write key words regarding what type of job that you are looking for.  Then, go onto the computer and do some research on these key words.  For example: I wanted to become a research nurse.  So, I had to go onto Google search engine and type in research nurse.  Then, I will see other words that would help narrow that down even further.  The last step would be to look for a job that you would find that would fit.  I wish you the best and let us know when you find what you are looking for.
