The Mater Private tried a new format this year, with a group interview, of about 8. You did various activities: group one where you had to change the words of a song to be about nursing, we did Happy Bday lmao...so embarrashing but funny...intimidating when you have 10 staf there watching you! Then we had 1-1 interviews, just general questions like why you picked nursing, what you can bring, some clinical questions, etc. Then you had a worksheet with various tasks and you had to priortise them in order of priority. The other activity was a case scenario, a bit like Thank God You're Here, but you knew the patient diagnosis, and if they had a PCA etc. Then you had to go into the room and there was a staff member pretending to be a paatient and you just had to demonstrate what you would do in that situation with another staff member doing notes. The guy I had was pretending to be a pain in the arse and after I finished, he laughed and apologised for being a difficult patient lol.
The Wesley and St Andrews, being a UHC organisation just had a few questions about clinical stuff, why you did nursing, team work all that kinda stuff.
The interviews for Qld Health are apparently harder.
