Hi Everyone,
Hoping someone can help me, I am sitting my STAT test and applying to do the Bachelor of Nursing at the University of Wollongong for 2010. Fingers crossed I get in this time (was knocked back for this year as it has been too long since I was at school or working, mature age here)
What I am curious about is, at the completion of 1st year, are you qualified to work as anything like an AIN or an EN? I read somewhere on the net that you can apply to become an EN but my mother-in-law thinks you can only be an AIN. I can't find the information I found before and hope that someone here may know the answer.
The main reason is I am hoping to complete 1st year and take some time off to work (if possible) until my youngest is at school (she is 1 at the moment, so will not be too much time off) and would much rather prefer to be an EN than an AIN if possible so there is more flexibility in shifts etc.
I know it would be better to just do the 3 years in one hit, but am trying to work my degree in with 2 kids and feel this is the better option for us if possible.
Any help is greatly appreciated as I just seem to be going around in circles!
TIA
Lisa
