I am interested to know if you have had experience buddying new staff in your work place? Were you 'thrown in at the deep end' or did your facility management educate and support you in your role as a buddy for new staff? Was your experience of being a buddy good or bad? What education or support would have helped you be a better buddy? Thanx

I was definitely thrown in the deep end, and was provided with virtually zero preparation/training.

In saying that, I am a naturally assertive person, and have had a lot of experience in training and coaching which meant that the entire process was quite smooth and enjoyable for myself and my buddy.

Further to that, I have had tremendous satisfaction from the role as recently two of the new worker's who I had supervised have gone on to be fantastic members of our team.
