Hi Enrolled Nurse Advanced Practice is a position that is really merit based not something you can really study for... which is great ......It is when you have a position that requires leadership, and working more automonously and working in more indirect supervison rather than direct from an RN.... Its good that they have finally come up with this position because this is what most ENs have to do anyway .... But you must have the clinical competencies in the area in which you work, which usually means you must have the experience......Hope this helps.... Helena

Hey guys, I'm a Masters prepared RN with 5+ years experience in critical care from the US. We are planning a move to Australia, and I am a little confused about the position of an Advanced Practice RN that seems to encompass the transition role prior to applying for NP status. Is it the same scope of practice as a RN, is it more about leadership, what type of position would one be employed in? Thanks for any information!
