Hi, I applied for registration (EN) at the start of November (sent by registered overnight mail), they sent me an email on 17 December stating they had received my application so I guess that means it took 5 or so weeks to open the envelope! I emailed them January 4 asking for an update on where they were at with my registration ... they replied they would get back to me - I am still waiting. I checked my credit card statement today - they have not yet taken the fee off my card! Anyone have any idea how long this might all take?? I actually finished my course in late August and it took my RTO nearly eight weeks to send out my transcript and now AHPRA is seeming to take forever ....

As an update ... today is 2 Feb and I am still waiting with no end in sight yet .... they finally took my fee on Jan 20 and I have spoken with them twice (plus several emails), the most recent talk being today ... they have no idea when it will be done, it is in "process" awaiting a police check which is what they said on Jan 19. Today I spent ages on the phone ... finally got someone who said they would see what the hold up was and put me on hold to never be seen again - I was bumped back to the main queue and had to start again with the waiting then finally another person comes on and I had to tell my story from the start yet again to be told it is being processed. Coming up for three months waiting! Very very frustrating!

If you had submitted your application early, it would have been processed faster. This was because of recent, many submitted for renewal and it swamped APHRA. You should be ok by mid February

schitzo, dont know if thats necessarily true- i applied in December for my rego and it was done by 14/1. so it makes no sense that people who applied before that in November STILL dont have rego and are getting the run around.

i get the feeling that no matter how early some people applied, there would still be problems.....this new nurses board does unfortunately seem to be a bit of a disaster. my sister is also having some minor issues and its ALL stemming from people working there being unable to look outside the square and problem solve, and realise that they actually have ALL the info from her that they need. its very frustrating when you have to ring and point out to people the most obvious things. it leaves you with very little faith in this board.

I guess, we need to take into account that APHRA has offices in major cities and each of them may experience different levels of workload. So if you are in Brisbane, then you'll find that it take one month to get your letter confirming that you application has been succesful and issued with the Reg number. However many till today (those who applied as early as in Nov/Dec) have not received their registration certificate.

Not sure if this is true but I heard APHRA in NSW in a bit of a mess...then again its hear say.

Another problem is whether your Uni. has sent in a graduate list with your name on it. I have a friend whose name was missed out because of some reason and she had her application delayed. She found out and chased it like a hound dog, make trips both to Uni and APHRA offices. She submitted in September (yeah, she's one of the always ahead of others...lol) and only got her confirmation of registration late January....now this was after she got the Uni to clean it acts in late November.
