My mum has decided that she might want to go back into nursing. She finished her training in 1980, and nursed for 4 years i think till i was born and wants to get back into it.

A guy at work told me that CQU have courses for re-entry, but mum wants to do the study distant ed, since she is at Thursday Island at the moment coz she's a teacher. I told her that there would be a very high amount of prac to do so yeah it would be hard to do that and teach at the same time perhaps.

Do any of you know how people can get back into nursing, particularly in Qld. I am going to call the QNC on Monday and see what they say.

Thanks, Liz

Bet you have already found out by now. I would have suggested the same thing that you did. BTW, how did you go informationwise?

Well she went to the nursing expo and seemed to get a fair bit of information which was really good She was very excited by it lol. But sadly the expo was held too late for her to apply for a licence and get applications in for scholarships etc etc...stupid time to hold the expo when the Qld Gov are doing lots to try and get poeple back in.
