hi

i have been working in aged care as a PCA for 3 years. my EN registration came out 3 weeks ago and i am finding it difficult to get a job. i have applied for jobs online and i even went to drop my resumes at the facilities but still no luck. i have got endless letters of regrets. they keep on telling me that they cant take me in because i don't have +6 months experience. i cant do grad year because i am starting my div 1 in July this year.

i was just wondering if anyone could offer me advice on how to get a job as an EN without experience.

thanks

Unfortunately, being a EN is useless. The position is identical to a AIN. However, if you were a EEN, like me, you get unlimited jobs. I have been doing countless 12 day fortnights as a casual EEN.

Its just EN's have identical roles and responsibilities as AIN's. You cant give out meds etc. They would employ a AIN over a EN cos AIN's are cheaper.

I'm telling you fact.

Hi New RN1

How did you manage to get your EEN job? Which state are you in? You must have dual registration right??

I would appreciate if you can give me some info how you went for EEN job, I am a new RN1 and I have dual rego.

I missed out New Grad program, waiting on their list!! as they say.

So I will look for EEN job

Thank you in advance

Best of luck

Hi,

I just finished my EEN diploma and looking for work in the Wollongong area. In regards to the previous post re: EEN casual work, are you given orientation to the facilities you work for casually or are you just thrown in the mix on the day you are called in for work. I'm weighing up whether to start as a casual or look for permanent work in one facility.

Any advice would be appreciated, thank you.
