I am possibly considering to do Gcit diploma of nursing online next year but as I live in Melbourne I don't know if I would get a job when I finish the course because I don't know if places would frown on the fact that I completed a diploma of nursing online and through gold coast tafe. Do you think it is easier to get a job as div 2 nurse if you complete the diploma on campus in your own state or does it not matter how you complete it because in the end everyone will be registered with AHPRA. I would like to know also if anyone has completed this online and living in another state and was able to secure employment. Also if we get the div 2 nursing diploma, can we work through nursing agencies or do you need experience first. I don't want to waste my time studying and want to do this the best way.

Is the online Nursing diploma new? I've never heard of it before. EN's have the opportunity to complete a grad year once they have finished their diploma. Look into them if you're wanting a little more assistance settling into your new role. If you feel confident enough without it you can apply directly to hospitals and aged care facilities for job, or go the agency route.

Hi, the online diploma of nursing course has been around for years. I am currently enrolled through the online bachelor of nursing Uni SA but I have changed my mind and and want to do the diploma of nursing first. As I will be working casually I thought the online diploma would be the best but I worry because it may be better to have face on learning and I want to be employed. I did ring one agency in Melbourne and they said they do take graduates as long as you are registered with AHPRA it doesn't matter how you complete your diploma of nursing. This gave me hope but of course it would be nice to get into a graduate program.
