I've just accepted an offer into the Graduate Entry program of Bachelor of Nursing with University of Sunshine Coast. I'm 48, with a teaching degree. I did that degree as a mature aged student, and have not taught much at all. I stopped after a few years, to have my family. I enjoyed the work, but am not in a position to ever get permanency as I've not done country service. I've always wanted to be a nurse though, it just never worked out......
I'd like to hear from others who are going to start studying this degree in July of this year, would be nice to know of others in a similar situation.

Congrats for securing your placement with U.S.C. Though I not about to start my degree I would like to encourage you to go for it, simple because like you, I am a mature age entrant once upon a time...lol. Managing a family and studying can be stressful but you can do it...remember the days when the computer was pretty much an isolated product and you have to be in Uni to do your work? Like you I have a family of 4 kids, a small business to run from home, a casual position with the Uni doing research and basically have to be very careful with my time management. to do so I managed my time by downloading my work or studying most online, hence saving me from having to attend a lot of lectures and even tutes...love the online revolution that it is now. Anyways all the best

Thank you Schizo and Marie, as time goes on, not only am I more frightened of my busy schedule ahead, but I'm now even more convinced that I'm doing the right thing. Thankfully, time management is a strength of mine, and I know I have the support of my family behind me. I'm also happy that a lot can be accessed via the internet these days and I look forward to that flexibility.

Thanks again.
