Morning, can anyone tell me the correct path to take to become a maternal child health nurse? Do you need to do your bachelor of nursing first and then specialise in that? Getting conflicting information.

Thankyou.

I have spoken to two health maternal nurses and they said they did the bachelor in nursing which took 3 years full time, then 1.5 to 2 years for master of midwifery then 1 to 2 years to specialise in maternal child health. She said it is about 6 years of study all up. I am in Victoria though and I think you will find it is different from state to state that's why you maybe getting so many different answers.
