Hi

I'm about to start the Diploma of Nursing And would like to know what the Assignment load is like for the 18mtns full time course.

Have just finished a Cert. III Aged Care and Community Services that was one month of Assignments and three weeks of Prac. We were doing 4 Assignments a week!

Does the Nursing course you are currently doing or have just done have a intense program of Assignments, Exams ect or do you get them at the start and have about 4-6 weeks to complete.

Thanks Jo

Honestly, at the start of the semester every class gives an outline of what assignments are required to be done and when they need to be done by. I never had much trouble with this as I always planned out my weeks in advance and returned my work prior to the due date. I know some people can be busy with life outside of class and if they aren't on top of due dates they can end up pulling all nighters to try to finish three assessments due that week. That being said, my lecturers are always nice enough to give extensions to people as long as you can prove you have started the work.

Outside of written assignments, everyone seems to agree that the hardest thing is doing the practical assessments. When you're standing there trying to remember what you're supposed to do with your fictional patient in front of you while your lecturer is silently watching you presumably make a mistake...it's pretty nerve-racking.
