Hi, what are the identifiable risks to patients receiving this treatment and nurses looking after patient with ongoing treatment....
Strategies to minimise those risks to all health care workers....
PPE worn...
Method to remove cytotoxic and radioactive waste...

Any information would be fantastic or links to websites would also be great..... Thanks!!!!

No probs, hope it helps. I didn't read it all myself but surely has to have the answers in there somewhere. It wasn't that hard to find, I haven't even started nursing yet. I'm glad I found this forum though I am getting a heads up on a lot and meeting like-minded people, so by the time I start next year it won't all seem as unknown and overwhelming to me hopefully. Til then I'm using as much of my spare time to study as much as I can as it's been 10 yrs since I've been at school =/

Hi, The forum is great am only knew to it myself, I too had not studied in years i started with the AIN and now just about finished the EN at Tafe have only 4 weeks left at Tafe and a couple of placements.

What you should try to study now is Anatomy and Physiology as that will really really help when you go to start the course.

Will be doing EN at Tafe??

Yep I'll be doing the EN course through the TAFE here. And as for study - already on it...focusing on A&P and as of yesterday got stuck into revising nursing maths to familiarise myself with things I learnt all that time ago at school. Slowly coming back to me! None of it has looked too scary to me yet thankfully. The A&P I find harder to remember =/ Congrats on not having long to go, I hope that one day I'll be saying the same thing. My MIL was a bit negative about it today saying she knows someone who finished the same course not all that long ago and can't get a job. I just shrugged. I mean it's one person, who knows why she's not getting a job. I don't think that is because there is a shortage of jobs out there, surely there's always needs for nurses out there. Doesn't mean I'm going to suddenly not follow my dreams that's for sure!
