Hi,

Is anyone currently studying Enrolled Nursing in Perth? If so can you give me any info on the course, i.e

days and times you attend Tafe/Uni, and how many weeks per Semester you have placements?

Thanks

Sharon

Hi Sharon

I am about to start Semester 2 at Challenger TAFE Murdoch. So I can tell you that based on that it is 3 days per week on campus in class in Semester 1 and 2 days per week in Semester 2 and 3. The hours vary a litte - but around about 9am - 3 or 4pm each day.

In term 2 of semester 1 you have 3 weeks prac. Then, in term 1 of semester 2 - 4 weeks, term 2 of semester 2 - 3 weeks. Then the same for semester 3. So a total of 17 weeks full time Mon-Fri prac.

I am really enjoying the course and looking forward to starting back on Thursday to complete my final year.

Let me know if you want to know anything else.

Cheers
Rebecca

Hi Rebecca,

Thank you so much for your info! Another question about the Practicals, mainly the hours, is it shift work?

Its just that I have 2 young boys and I am trying to figure out how I could do the prac and still pick them up from school/Daycare etc?

Thanks!

Sharon

I am currently on my second prac - at Graylands Hospital this time. It goes for 4 weeks and I do either a morning shift from 7am or an afternoon from 3pm for 8 hours. Days are just Monday to Friday (not weekends or any night shift).

Hope that helps.

Cheers
Rebecca
