Hello Students, Nurses, General Helpers,

I am looking to enrol in a 12 month course which once completed will lead me on the path to becoming an EN. I have just returned from living in the UK for two years and prior to that I was a NSW Police Officer for 6 years. I come from a background of nurses, my Mother and sisters alike, I am 29 and my sisters have been nurses since they were 18. They are a little out of the loop as to my best options. I am looking at getting in to a course ASAP. I understand TAFENSW started in February.

I would be happy to relocate from Sydney for a nice change and the chance to meet some new people studying the same course. Any ideas?

Ultimately I would love to work in Mental Health. I look forward to hearing from anybody with feedback.

Thanks,
Beck

Hi Beck,

I don't know if this would be of any help to you but why don't you get yourself enrolled in the EN program straight away.I know that there is one starting in July at Kangan TAFE in melbourne and the duration of the course is one and a half years.

Hi Beck

Challenger TAFE in Murdoch, Perth, WA runs a 12 months Diploma of Enrolled Nursing course (based at St John of God Hospital). I believe the next course starts in July. It is quite competitive to get into as they only take about 20 students per year. I believe applications are open now. Contact Challenger TAFE.

Alternatively, they also run the 18 month EN diploma - of which I am now half way through.

Cheers
Rebecca
