Year after year, nothing much seems to change. I'm on a grad year in a private, publicly listed hospital. I would strongly advocate for grads to seek positions in public hospitals. They are accustomed and tolerant of training environments, aren't reliant on doctors for their income (therefore they can't do whatever they like) and the priority and focus isn't on returning a profit to shareholders.

hello nurses!

I am a new grad currently about to finish my first (out of two) 6 month rotation in a Sydney city hospital.

I have been recently thinking about relocating to northern Queensland as I have been quite unhappy

living in Sydney and have become quite stressed with the lifestyle.

Can anyone give me some advice/info about if quitting my new grad half way through my year

is a bad decision?

Does anyone think I will struggle to find work with half a grad cert as I have heard

from other new grads on my program that I may struggle to find permanent work.  I have been offered

casual pool work in Cairns but it was written clearly 'shifts are not guaranteed'!!! I know its a huge risk to

take moving to somewhere with no guaranteed shifts, but would love to know if anyone has been in a similar

situation or can offer me any wise words of what I should do!!

Thanks so much!!

:)
