Hello Students, Nurses, General Helpers,

I am looking to enrol in a 12 month course which once completed will lead me on the path to becoming an EN. I have just returned from living in the UK for two years and prior to that I was a NSW Police Officer for 6 years. I come from a background of nurses, my Mother and sisters alike, I am 29 and my sisters have been nurses since they were 18. They are a little out of the loop as to my best options. I am looking at getting in to a course ASAP. I understand TAFENSW started in February.

I would be happy to relocate from Sydney for a nice change and the chance to meet some new people studying the same course. Any ideas?

Ultimately I would love to work in Mental Health. I look forward to hearing from anybody with feedback.

Hi Beck,

Most courses around are a EN course with medication endorsement. These courses are generally 18 months long and can be completed online or in the classroom. Good luck in the mental health field - as a member you would already have some experience in the area.

Check out places like GCIT or similar institutions for courses that start mid year.

Hi Beck,

Careers Australia has opened a new college here in Sydney, they run an 18 mth course, diploma of nursing, I went to an info morning recently & I am waiting for a call back to sit the entrance exam. They are looking to start the course in April. They are located in George Street Sydney. Here is their number 02 9336 5500 or 1300 887 696. Give them a call ASAP if you are keen. VET help is available. Hope this helps.
