Hi Katie80,

Well done on getting an interview, that's great!

Do you know your score for your exam? Because how it usually works is they take your exam score and your interview score and add them together to get a total, then they will take the top 15 highest scores. So basically if you dont go great with your exam you can make it up in your interview. Does that make sense? The interview I think from memory was 10 questions which once you've answered they put a score next to each answer you give. Anyway it's all pretty much common sense and just be yourself and honest. Do you know who your interview is with? Everyone is lovely so don't stress and good luck!!

Hi Megan.

I am not sure of my actual number of right or wrong answers to the test. All i am aware of is i got 78%.

So hopefully that helps me somewhat.

You don't happen to remember any of those 10 questions do you lol?

As yet i am not sure who it is with?

I hope i do o.k?

How are you finding the course so far? Are you coping with all the study? Have you been on placements yet?

One thing i wanted to know about placements is do you go by yourself or are you with a group of other students?

I am curious to know how that all works.

Hi Katie80,

Some of the questions I got asked were;

* What do you know about the Div 2 course?

* Why should I be chosen over someone else?

* What would I do, if someone I was working with was not putting in their fair share of work and falling behind?

* What would I do if a patient couldn't understand or speak english clearly and I needed to explain a procedure to them?

Sorry I can't remember what else I was asked! I know I got asked a lot of questions relating to scenarios I may have come across in my last job, which for me was dental nursing. The interview wasn't too bad, like I said just be honest and yourself and make sure you get across that you're committed and nursing is something you really want to do, not just for money or a better job but because it's your passion that type of thing!

As far as placements go I have my first one in about 3 weeks which is aged care. My group is made up of about 5 girls I think from memory. Apart from that it's all new to me and I'm not sure how it all works yet so I'll have to let you know!

So far I'm really loving the course, there have been some moments when I've gone AAAAHHHH!!! but it's all good! The work load is picking up, I've been there for 4 months now. You need to be super organised and make sure you keep up with everything as it's easy to fall behind. We cover 4-5 subjects at a time and you need to give equal time to all of them! We've had a few assignments and a couple of exams and class presentations so far. It is straight into it!

Anyway let me know how you go with your interview, is it at Edithvale? I'll actually be there that day! Do you know what days you'll have school yet?

Well good luck , let me know if I can help withanything!

Hi Megan

Yeah it's at Edithvale at 2pm today.

I am nervous now.

The days from memory would be Monday and Tuesdays at Frankston??

Wish me luck!

Thanks for all the advice you've been a great help.

Hey Katie,

How did you go with your interview?

Was it all ok?

Did you get interviewed by Penny?

Do you know when you find out anything?

I know with my interview it only took about 4 days to hear back, so hopefully it will be the same for you!

Are you doing the nursing preparation course?

Well keep in touch, I hope it goes in your favour!

Hi Megan.

I did have Penny.

Answered all the questions it was pretty laid back actually. She didn't give anything away but she said i have the right attitude and i carry myself well.

However i found out just how bad i did on my entrance exam.

Everything was good but i barely passed the maths section Penny said it was something i would have to really work on.

So that could let me down, but i would be happy with an outright offer or an offer to start in the next one.

I am currently doing the prep course every wed night till the 9th December. Trying to remember all those words is a little tricky though lol.

Penny said i should find out in 2 weeks cause they still had more interviews to do but i am not sure i could hear this week if they get through them quick.

I will let you know how i go when i hear but i know that if i get in i am going to feel quite scared lol.

I am even changing jobs partly cause i have had it with my current casual job and second it will be easier if i get in.

Penny knows that too lol.

Will let you know.

Katie.
