My uni has just recently started advertising the fact that we can apply to be part of a fellowship program, a fellowship program being that we are tied to a hospital throughout our entire nursing degree adn complete all our placements at that one hospital, adn are pretty much given a graduate position. What are peoples thoughts on this? I think i want to apploy for one..but im not sure if it would be beneficial to see what a variety of hospitals are like to work in, rather than just seeing the one? Also the fellowship i want to apply for, their graduate program offers only one 12 month rotation, rather than 2 6 month, or 3 four month rotations like seen in other hospitals. Would being in the one ward for 12 months be beneficial? or would it be better to get some more experience in at least two wards?

thanks!!

Hi there

Personally i love the sound of a fellowship, although i like change, i believe whilst i am learning it would be more beneficial for me to have a stable working environment.

Working at the one hospital and then getting a graduate position there after uni would be great. After a few years you could always leave to try out new environments.

That is of course if you like the hospital and the people working there ...that is the catch i suppose.
