My name is Jo and i am currently in my 2nd year studying Midwifery at Flinders University. As part of the course, we have to follow women through their pregnancy. This means we attend a minimum of 3 antenatal appointments, be on call for the birth and attend a postnatal visit. If anyone is interested in helping me out, I'd love to hear from you, I can pick women up at any point in their pregnancy, up to 34 weeks gestation but at the moment am only looking for women that will be birthing at Flinders Medical Centre. If you are interested, please email me at... rzes0001@flinders.edu.au

Thanks!

Jo

Hi Tanya,

To do midwifery you have to go to Uni... UniSA and Flinders Uni offer the course in Adelaide. There are 2 pathways into Mid.. you can do the Bachelor of Registered Nursing course which is 3 years and then do the post-grad midwifery course, which is 18months after that. The other way is to do the direct entry Bachelor of Midwifery course which is just 3 years. The direct entry course is a little harder to get into as there are limited places available in the course (approx 40 per uni) and plenty of people wanting to do it. Doing the nursing course first would give you a great base to go from. I do kind of regret not doing the Nursing course first.. but ah well, too late now hehe

To get into uni u need to sit the stat test (provided you are 21 years of age or older)

and go from there! Good luck with it, if u would like to know anything else please feel free to email me!

Jo
